5 Ingredient desserts or less

Yup. Five ingredients or less. Save money and time washing dishes! Hooray hooray! cheer2-onion-head-emoticon

While these desserts use less ingredients, the time it takes to bake is the normal 12 – 15 minutes.
The best thing is that all the ingredients are all at home and ones that we usually have all the time in the pantry.

Nutella brownies

For brownies and nutella lovers, hazeulnut spread is the main ingredient in this recipe. You’ll get a pack full punch of hazeulnut flavor in your mouth. The basic ingredients are hazeulnut chocolate spread, egg, and flour. Of course it doesn’t have to stop there, you may add nuts, chocolate chips, peanut butter, or whatever you want. The recipe above (click on nutella brownies for recipe), has the directions with pictures to help you make these quick brownies. There are multiple variations of these hazelnut brownies online but I particularly linked this recipe because it had pictures that showed the steps and it made my mouth drool. I decided to give it a go and in less than 10 minutes all of the brownies were gone. These only had 3 simple ingredients compared to a regular brownie recipe that contains butter, baking powder, oil, etc but the texture and taste was very much like a regular brownie. Less time and effort spent paid off.

Peanut Butter cookies

Peanut butter cookies 3 ingredients 2

This recipe is pure peanut butter, sugar, and egg. No flour. If you’re not a fan of peanut butter, you can substitute it with cookie butter, almond butter, etc. Its pretty cool to see the end result of these cookies. Though it contains no flour, thanks to the peanut butter it takes the shape and form of a cookie and maintains a soft and chewy texture. I do recommend taking out some sugar if you want a more soft crust opposed to a crunchy sugary crust. It may be best to take out some sugar to reduce the risk of diabetes. We wouldn’t want that now, would we? You won’t be able to enjoy eating these sweets any longer.

Mug cake

Too lazy to bust out the mixing bowls? Too impatient to wait for the oven to preheat? I know I am. And maybe you are too. Lucky for us, the mug cake has come to light.  You’re only 5 minutes away from filling your stomach since this is made in the microwave. I came across this creation when I was randomly looking at food blogs and saw a cake in a cup. Curious, I clicked on it and it directed me to a whole list of mug cake recipes. Heck, there’s even a peanut butter and nutella mug cake recipe if you’re interested. Depending on the type of mug cake you want to make, the number of ingredients vary. Mug cakes are a hit or miss for many people but it doesn’t hurt to try. Because everyone’s microwave is different, carefully watch your cake to prevent it from burning or from oozing out of the mug. I literally watched my mug cake burn because I was too amazed watching it rise.

Banana ice cream

The fastest and healthiest ice cream you’ll ever get and it’s done with only 1 ingredient. Bananas. All you need to do is take a banana that is ripe, slice it into pieces, and store it in the freezer for a couple of hours. When it’s rock hard, using a food processor or blender, blend until it reaches a frosty frozen ice cream like texture. Scoop it out and you’re ready to enjoy with your choice of toppings~ If you don’t want to stick with plain banana , cocoa powder, chocolate, and other different flavors can be added to the base.
